2020 University College Commencement
Thursday May 7, 2020 | 6 p.m. | National Veterans Resource Center (NVRC)
University College students work long and hard on the requirements for an associate or bachelor’s degree and pride and satisfaction of finally reaching that goal is worth celebrating. All UC students who successfully completed their studies in December 2019, May 2020, or August 2020 are invited to participate in Commencement and celebrate their achievements with their family, friends, professors, and classmates.
The University College Commencement for part-time students will take place on Thursday, May 7 at 6 p.m. at the National Veterans Resource Center (NVRC). A reception will immediately take place at the Center following the ceremony. Graduates are welcome to bring their guests to the reception, which is always a festive affair filled with grateful students, proud families, and a tempting array of hors d’ oeuvres.
If you would like to attend, you must R.S.V.P. by April 30 for you and your guests. Free parking is available in the University North and South Lots and the Harrison Lot. Detailed directions can be found at https://parking.syr.edu/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Pad-Map-North-Master-20190910.pdf. Elderly and disabled individuals must indicate your special needs when you R.S.V.P.
Before receiving a diploma, students must file a Diploma Request. If you are planning to complete your degree work and have not filed your diploma request, please activate the “file diploma request” in http://myslice.syr.edu.
Academic advisors are always available for information and advice, but it is the student’s responsibility to know and fulfill all degree requirements for graduation. Participation in Convocation and Commencement ceremonies does not necessarily indicate that all degree requirements have been completed. Contact your advisor at 315.443.3261 if you have any questions.
