Add / Drop / Withdraw

Schedule Adjustment (adding and dropping classes) is a self-service process for University College students. Eligible students have access to add and drop classes via MySlice through the withdrawal deadline. Students are not required to obtain signatures to add or drop prior to the established deadlines. You may want to discuss your decision with an academic advisor who might be able to help resolve a problem or suggest another option. Don’t just start or stop going to class.

Adding a Class

Students can add classes on MySlice through the add deadline of the class. For the exact add deadline date associated with a specific class consult the Schedule of Classes.

University policy prohibits students from attending, being evaluated, auditing, or otherwise participating in regular semester classes without being officially enrolled.


Dropping a Class

Students may drop classes via MySlice . There is no need to present a drop form to UC for processing. Classes dropped by the University’s official academic drop deadline are not recorded on the transcript and are not calculated into the GPA. However, only classes dropped during the financial drop period will result in a tuition adjustment.

Know Your Deadlines!

The amount of any tuition adjustment will be based on the academic deadline in place on the date you drop the class. Once you are registered, view deadlines via your online class schedule at MySlice>Enrollment>View My Class Schedule or MySlice>Finances>View Financial Deadlines.

Financial Aid Recipients

Financial Aid recipients will be prevented from dropping below 6 credit hours until advised of possible financial repercussions. You may be in danger of losing your federal loans. You will be required to indicate via e-mail that you accept responsibility for any outstanding balance. After that time, you will be cleared to drop.


Withdrawing from a Class

Following the academic drop deadline , students may withdraw from a class through the withdrawal deadline of that class. For EXACT deadline dates associated with a class, go to MySlice . Before you register, consult the Schedule of Classes. Once you are registered, view deadlines via your online class schedule at under Enrollment > View My Class Schedule or Finances > View Financial Deadlines.

  • The grade symbol WD will be recorded on the transcript.
  • The WD does not count in the calculation of the GPA.
  • Students who withdraw are still responsible for payment of all tuition and fees.
  • Following the last day to receive a WD, students are evaluated on the basis of the work completed in the course.

Withdrawing from Flexible Format Classes

Flexible format classes have unique deadlines that do not conform to the University’s published official academic withdrawal deadline. Deadlines are determined based on the length and format of each class. For EXACT deadline dates associated with a class, go to MySlice . Before you register, consult the Schedule of Classes. Once you are registered, view deadlines via your online class schedule at under Enrollment > View My Class Schedule or Finances > View Financial Deadlines.
