The Dec. 19 session of the Institute for Retired People (IRP) will feature Cynthia Morrow, Onondaga County health commissioner.

Morrow will share findings from the 2013 Onondaga County Community Health Assessment and Improvement Plan. She has served as Commissioner of Health for Onondaga County since 2005. She is also an assistant professor of public health and preventive medicine and an assistant professor of pediatrics at SUNY Upstate Medical University.  In addition to leading a large health department, Morrow is committed to educating future physicians and public health workers and to developing and fostering community partnerships that address a wide range of public health concerns.

IRP meetings are held on every first and third Thursday of the month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Syracuse, 5833 E. Seneca Turnpike, Jamesville.
