IRP call for new members

The Institute for Retired People (IRP), a program for anyone age 50 and over, is seeking new members for the 2011-12 year. Sponsored by University College of Syracuse University, IRP provides opportunities for members and their guests to expand interests and make new acquaintances. IRP meetings feature guest speakers on topics ranging from local history, political and social issues, and the arts to science and education. Guest speakers include University faculty, local elected officials, heads of community organizations, and other experts from a variety of fields. IRP also organizes field trips and offers opportunities for community volunteerism. 

Information sessions are scheduled on the following dates from 11:30-noon, followed by the program from noon-1 p.m. They will take place at First Baptist Church of Syracuse, 5833 E. Seneca Turnpike, Jamesville, just one mile from the I-481 interchange.
