University College presents ‘The Messenger’

Friday Night Flicks on the Quad will take place on Friday, June 18 beginning at 8 p.m., with the movie starting at 9 p.m. The featured film will be “The Messenger,” starring Ben Foster, Woody Harrelson and Samantha Morton. It is a powerful story about a returned war hero making his first steps toward a normal life who has to bear the bad news to the loved ones of fallen soldiers. When he finds himself drawn to a woman to whom he has just delivered the news of her husband’s death, his emotional detachment dissolves. The film is a surprising, humorous and very human portrait of grief and survival.

This movie is rated R. You must be at least 17 years old to attend. Show your SU I.D. and receive free popcorn, soda and prizes. The rain location is Gifford Auditorium in the HBC building.

The scheduled July 23 feature is “The Bounty Hunter,” starring Jennifer Aniston, Gerard Butler and Christine Baranski.
