There are literally thousands of courses to choose from in the fall and spring terms at Syracuse University. Search for classes using MySlice to view up-to-date credit class information.

You do not need an SU NetID and password to search for classes. Click on the Course Catalog / Class Search > Search for Classes link in the upper right corner of the MySlice home page.

There are many different search options, including:

Search by Subject Area >

Search by Session (when does the class meet) >

Search by Mode of Instruction (online or in person) >

Search by Subject Area

  1. Make sure your desired term is selected from the Term drop down menu.
  2. Click the drop down arrow to the right of Subject Area to select a subject (example: Accounting, Advertising)
  3. Click on Search at the bottom of page.

Search by Session

  1. Make sure your desired term is selected from the Term drop down menu.
  2. Click the drop down arrow to the right of Session to select a subject. Session terminology is:
    • Flex Long Classes: Classes with irregular meeting dates. See class details when you search.
    • Flex Short Classes: Classes with irregular meeting dates. See class details when you search.
    • Regular Academic Session: Classes that begin the week associated with the published “first day” of classes and end the week associated with the published “last day” of classes of the semester. See class details when you search.
  3. Click on Search at the bottom of page.

Search by Mode of Instruction

  1. Make sure your desired term is selected from the Term drop down menu.
  2. Click the drop down arrow to the right of Mode of Instruction. Mode of Instruction is:
    • In person: On campus class.
    • Online Asynchronous Non-Res: Class is delivered online, primarily without scheduled class sessions or real-time interaction.
    • Online Asynchronous Residency Class: Class is delivered with a combination of limited on-campus course work and online class work.
    • Online Synchronous Non-Residency Class: Class is delivered online but during scheduled class times.
    • Online Synchronous Residency Class: Class is delivered with a combination of limited on-campus course work and online during scheduled class times.
  3. Click on Search at the bottom of page.
